🚨 Update on BasedPepe Contest Voting Issue 🚨 We identified an issue causing confusion between the user interface and the actual contest results for the BasedPepe contest. Here's what happened: At the exact contest end time (Mar-13-2025, 09:40:40), a user attempted a Sybil attack by submitting votes after the deadline. This action temporarily changed the order displayed in the user interface. ✅ Important: The contest payout occurred correctly to legitimate winners, based strictly on votes cast before the contest deadline. 🎉 Actual Winners: 1st & 2nd: 0xc03ae99eba09901F961B3d309D45130b2bA7bBFb 3rd: 0x30322fD60983dBEaf73196C44E13f270DEee49Ab We're currently resolving the UI mismatch issue to accurately reflect contest results and ensure clarity. Suggestions for the Voting System: - Voter Weight Limit – Each voter can only cast votes according to their allocated weight to prevent excessive vote manipulation. - Voting Deadline Buffer – Voting closes 5-10 minutes before the contest ends to prevent last-minute manipulations. - One-Time Voting per Voter – Each voter can only vote once, with no option to modify or add votes later, preventing spam and system exploitation. - Voting Starts After 24 Hours / Contestants Meet Requirements – Voting opens only after 24 hours or once the required number of contestants is met, ensuring only eligible participants can be voted for. Suggestions for Prize Distribution: - Prize Distribution Delayed by 24-48 Hours After Contest Ends – While rewards are distributed automatically via smart contracts, team can conduct a manual audit within 24-48 hours before finalizing payouts.
