Music streaming is broken. As an independent electronic music artist I’ve decided to operate on a D2L (direct to listener) format. Here’s a thread on my newest project “diwa sound system” and why I decided to become my own music distributor while also leveraging onchain technology.

I decided to pivot to this model because I was tired of being subject to the streaming platforms algorithm and payment structures.
I’ve been exploring onchain music since 2021 and I wanted to take back my agency and control how my music is distributed.

But How? Simple. I created my own website, that features a custom media player- reminiscent of the modular web page culture of the early 2000s. Here listeners can experience my mix in full, learn more about the project, buy merch or sign up for my email list.

My goal for this project is to explore the intersections of nature, heritage and technology- and how they converge with our spiritual evolution.

I’ve started also promoting the project IRL through posters in NY, D.C and Denver with more to come!

This is taking full responsibility for the distribution of independent music. It takes a lot of work to stand out and get your work heard- but creating something meaningful will always create impact If you’re willing to share it often
