Episode 2 of extension education Here are some common approaches to extension education. I would be talking about two approaches today. 1. *Top-down approach*: Experts provide knowledge and guidance to the community, often with a pre-determined agenda. With the top down approach system, farmers are not included with the research the agents work on what they think to be challenges of the farmer and find solutions to it and come and teach the farmers on what to do. 2. *Bottom-up approach*: Community needs and concerns drive the extension program, with experts supporting community-led initiatives. The farmers prefer these method a lot because they are able to voice out their concerns and they are given the necessary help that they require to make their farming experience easier for them.
