Music NFTs failed because the hype did not meet reality. Collecting music needs to be free and accessible at scale. It's not realistic for every artist to promise tickets, merch + meet and greets. Or for songs to be sold for thousands of dollars at scale. Music NFTs walked so $1 open editions could run.

First thing someone does onchain is buy a song from an artist they recognize for $1 or earn it as an airdrop. Crypto becomes the place to discover fresh, quality music ala Soundcloud in 2014. Every mint comes with some sort of token reward so you immediately get something of value back. Songs are the monetization layer for consistent recurring onchain revenue that powers larger artist token economies.
