The baobab tree belongs to the family of plants and is one of eight special trees that only live in Madagascar, Africa or Australia When it rains, rainwater gradually seeps into the trunk of the baobab tree. The tree can store up to 130,000 liters of water for 4 months. This amount of water is enough for the tree to survive the dry months.Although baobabs have a woody trunk, it is difficult to determine their age. However, the size of the trunk can tell us about its longevity. Carbon dating is the best way to tell how old a baobab tree is. Some species of baobab can live up to 2,000 years, others can live up to 4,000 years depending on environment.
