Speaking of the devil. In the long run, both plans will lead to the same outcome. Weak resilience means an easier way to occupy more land. Just like what happened in syria. The more land occupied, the harder it is for resilience to target it.

in my opinion, Syria will be divided into parts. The divisions will separate areas for the Kurdish people, who still hold their lands. Some parts will go to Al-Nusra or Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham—whatever they call themselves now, the people of Al-Sharia. Daesh will likely be reborn and claim its own territories, alongside other groups like Qasad, few groups of shia and so on.
