This face, somehow, always screams “forgetfulness” to me. No need to spell it out, but what Carlo Ancelotti has done for the history of AC Milan and Real Madrid is almost unmatched. Yet… neither Milan fans nor Real fans seem to have much love for Carletto. Why? Let’s look at it this way: there’s a thing in human nature tied to forgetfulness, and it’s called greed. Greed works like this: someone’s in a rough spot, another person steps in to help, they make progress together, share happy times, and go through a golden era. But then, a new phase of their relationship kicks in. At this point, the person who was struggling doesn’t stop to reassess the new dynamic or reflect on the journey. Instead, they want more—they expect the helper to keep pushing them higher. And this greed (right or wrong, doesn’t matter) breeds forgetfulness. Forgetfulness of the times before, of the help they got.
This is why people’s achievements get overlooked. 1 reply
