You came to the balance of my heart, you relieved my fever and pain, and I was a tree that burned your fingers in celebration of longing, I was born from your lips and my life begins with you.

You came,
calming the restless beats of my heart,
extinguishing the fever of my solitude with your touch.
And I,
a withered tree in the midst of a storm,
grew green again beneath the warmth of your gaze.

I was born from your smile,
and the world began anew for me,
as if no pain,
no night,
had ever existed before you.
