There has been some talk lately about how Moxie adds a price tag to every interaction on Farcaster, so I wanted to share my take. 

Every platform puts a price tag on your engagement, but on others, you don’t benefit from it. At least with Moxie, we see those benefits rather than some giant social media company.

Counterpoint, intangible benefits gained are effectively soul bound (eg bragging rights) and ud have to create value through other alternative sources (eg kols leveraging a large following). 

By tokenizing these benefits u make them directly tangible. While this is great, it incentivizes short term value extractors rather than long term value creators. This is primarily where degen struggled and moxie will struggle as well if it doesn't find long term pmf.

I’m not talking about the bragging rights tho. I’m talking about the tangible benefits that Twitter, Reddit, and other social media companies get from your content and engagement. 

The stuff they sell to advertisers and use to model complicated ad algorithms. On every other social media platform, engagement has value. We just don’t see any of it.

i get that, but as i said, u do benefit - just that these benefits are intangible. engagement farmers also exist on X
