this is primarily why the best r/r on base right now is momentum and/or catalyst-driven swings: the hands are weak

the 4 buckets of traders on base are:

1) fc/degen/higher og — these folks are generally profitable traders & already up $100-200k+ on the year; they’re throwing 0.1-0.4e at anything interesting; they immediately exit for at least the initial buy on the first rip & rotate gains back into higher/degen

2) builders & coinbase slack — these folks are not traders but “dabble by proximity”; they have full salaries, 401(k)s, and tradfi minds; they’re risk adverse & overtrade as a result; they are immediately out on anything 2-3x+

3) tourists — these folks reside on x & buy into the “solana to base” narrative; they bought $lum and $higher & own some other random pumped up non-fc token that you’ve never heard of like $brett; they are here for a good time, not a long time & are out on anything 5-7x

4) you — you are the exit liquidity that keeps the show going; thanks
