Yet they're recommended everywhere 
What's your opinion on this?

They needs to be specific enough to add relevancy for the post. I usually see a decreasing performance beyond 3-4 hashtags in a single post even if they are relevant and specific.

LinkedIn is dead, it works a different way. Depending upon connections

i don't use them at all but i haven't tried them so i can't tell you if they're working
