Liberals as usual ignore context of Russia's invasion (NATO's instigations & Western support of coup in Ukraine & ethnic Russian majority in East Ukraine) But at the end of the day, Putin invaded another country. You can't come back from this. And yes, Zelensky isn't diplomatic enough, he enforces conscription, etc. But it isn't crazy to ask for security guarantees upon a peace agreement. What an embarrassment for everyone involved in yesterday's spat. Also remember: Neither libs nor cons show an ounce of sympathy for the 20x more civilian Muslims killed a few thousand kilometres south of Ukraine.

Going to prison for the rest of your life over non-violent tax offenses is absurd. The case against Roger seems very politically motivated; like with @RealRossU, there have been plenty of people and corporations who have been accused of far worse and yet faced sentences far milder. The argument that the flashlight on him is motivated by things he said (advocacy of freedom and refusal to accept legitimacy of coercive state power) seems compelling. The US tax-by-citizenship and associated exit tax regime is extreme; the former is shared by almost no other countries in the world, and the latter is on the high end of what countries do (eg. UK only charges capital gains if you return within 5 years). If the IRS did intimidate Roger's lawyers to get privileged info, that is a bad faith move; right to consult lawyers in confidence must be kept sacrosanct. I might switch from Claude back to OpenAI tooling. It served me really well in the last 2 years but it feels like Anthropic is falling behind. - Claude still has April 2024 cutoff date on information - It's still great at coding, but reasoning models pretty much caught up at this point - Too limited token count for Sonnet - And just minor stuff like not having image/TTS/video gen etc.

This is what I noticed when I've seen China myself. Obviously it was just one visit, and otherwise only online interactions. But in my opinion, Western citizens today are more propagandized than Chinese citizens. I didn't know much about China 20 years ago, but I don't believe it was this bad in the West even after the Iraq invasion.
