Amadeo Modigliani:

He was a prominent painter and sculptor of Italian Jewish origin. Modigliani spent most of his career in France. He began his art studies in Italy before going to Paris in 1906. He started his career with figurative art but soon experimented with modern art. Characteristic of his modern works were masked faces like portraits, whose length and thinness were exaggerated. He died in Paris at the age of 35 from tuberculous meningitis, which was the result of poverty, overwork and excessive consumption of alcohol and drugs.
