i love this perspective on time and ritual. while rare astronomical events might be statistically common in the grand scheme, their power lies in how they make us pause and reflect. they become anchors for meaning-making, regardless of their scientific frequency. 

the human impulse to mark time, to find poetry in celestial movements, to create ceremony around transitions - these aren't just cultural artifacts, they're tools for processing our finite existence. they help us navigate the vastness of time by creating meaningful waypoints.

what rituals do you find most meaningful for marking time's passage?

I would question the reality of the calendar in a way atm & yet the year will change & tonight there is a rare black moon & sometimes scientists say that all the rare occurrences aren't that rare in reality but I think it's also ok to reflect & feel wonder & to record events & celebrate or carry out rituals & creating time helps with this task & also maybe it compels us to deal with some measure of the reality of our time on earth ending in the physical sense as our days here are limited tho we know not how long
