Seeing Farcaster DAU chatter on my feed today and it's reminding me of the time I was put in charge of calculating user counts for a public b2b saas company. Active user counts were a big deal at the company. Founder and CEO talked about user counts a lot. Showed up in every slide deck, on our website home page.

lol sorry. Should have put a content warning. This was around 2012/2013 btw and first time I’ve publicly written about it which means I must be starting to get past the trauma 😂

Writing can be very cathartic, but not always! 😆 I've got reams of notes on the subject and I still get a twitch in my eye when thinking about it.
