He didn't go to journalism school and knew no journalists, but found friends over the internet who shared his interests. These online friends eventually became colleagues, blurring the line between his online and offline friends. In episode 209, Mark mentioned that he last used crypto to subscribe to someone's hyper sub, and also to pay for meals at restaurants using his Blackbird wallet. He also noted that the most recent physical item he purchased with crypto was a hoodie.
