I'll second the Powell's Books recommendation. My favorite bookstore ever. I don't get out too often, though, so I'm sure other casters have better recs than I do for cool spots. 

Powell's Books. A full city block and multiple stories filled with books. It even has a rare book room if that's your jam. 1000% recommended.
