I’m re-reading Packy’s classic The Great Online Game thru the lens of What has changed in the 2.5 yrs since it was written Can women take it at face value or do we need to apply a modified rule set? https://www.notboring.co/p/the-great-online-game

The players: “CEOs, influencers, artists, researchers, investors, and regular people, like you and me” @packy do you still identify as a regular person, 2.5 years after writing this? 🙃

I first raised an eyebrow in skepticism at this claim: “Your financial and psychological wellbeing is at stake, but the downside is limited. The upside, on the other hand, is infinite.” Until I found another paragraph that describes the game in more detail…

You can jump into the Great “Online Game at any point, whether as a total unknown or an accomplished person, and start building the world that you want to build.” Start building the world you want is THE driving force behind my vocal feminism

“the more you signal who you are and what you care about, the more you open yourself up to new possibilities.” Putting your real self out anywhere is hard. I want to say it’s harder for women bc of how we are socialized (look pretty, don’t misbehave) but I think it’s prob just really hard for most people

“I suspect that many of the most successful web3 projects built in the coming years will serve to give the Great Online Game tools that were previously only available within the walled gardens of specific virtual or corporate worlds.” Farcaster what 👀
