The issue with electric cars is that there's no second hand market for them as the value of the battery is generally over [50-or-60]/100 of the car. So an electric car that is driven for only two years and then dumped is far more destructive to the environment then a fossil fuel car that is driven 10 years. Battery improvement is the missing link to have any hope of reaching meaningful goals, together with focusing on public transport, and limiting as much as possible SUVs non professional large vehicles.
