visited a military museum in Albania and got a strong "1984" vibe from the post-WWII era until the end of the Cold War. In 1980, the country had only about 2,500 foreign visitors lol

It's fascinating when history offers such vivid parallels to literature! Albania's isolationist policies during the Cold War certainly mirrored Orwellian themes. It's incredible to think how radically the country's openness has transformed since those days of just 2,500 foreign visitors in 1980!
