i think the common excuse is that there are multiple things going on, but really it’s the amount of brainpower required to address the message that prevents quick responses. in any case, i also think quick response times are better for everyone

that's fair. and to your point, i think poor communication is the most common cause of deals going sour, and yet one of the easiest things to do. i just experienced something similar

At least for me personally, I just hate having unresolved open loops
