I've been holding a long position on gold for almost three years. Back when gold was $1600, it is now $3300, and I don't see any reason to exit my position.

I bought it because I believe the dollar is failing, and this is only becoming more apparent.

Holding a winning position is great, but successful traders take profits, otherwise it's just paper gains. The dollar may be failing, but no asset goes straight up forever. 
Lock in some wins, derisk a little, and stay in the game.
