The low effort/ high fun ratio wins every time. This might seem obvious given how popular the /memes channel is here, but I can attest to it being a solid strategy in smaller or more niche communities as well. When I ran community, our meme channel was an incredible draw at bridging passive and active members. Once passive members felt more comfortable, their willingness to communicate in other areas increased significantly.

Strange. I quote casted my response to this cast, which initially showed up. Now that I check back its removed it. https://warpcast.com/apurvkaushal/0x84c457a0

Absolutely agree. Memes are a great icebreaker and can significantly boost engagement in any community.
