I think I was first exposed to a version of that word when this came out:

OMFG it’s video game? What is it about??

It was a point & click adventure/horror game about a woman battling supernatural forces. It came out right at the hight of the FMV craze and was pretty groundbreaking for it's time. It was unheard of to have something span 7 discs, but it was pretty epic in scope.
All that to say it looks incredibly dated now and probably hasn't aged well since they had to compress everything to make it work for the common 90s computer.
