if you map out everything before running, it is too late. if you run as you think, it often feels unstable, but you can stay nimble, and even when you fail, fail forward. what sucks the most is when the sheer weight of the ‘perfect plan’ crushes you to the ground before even making a single move

In my experience plans never work they way you expected. But thats not a good reason to not prepare as much as possible. Instinctive assessment and reaction is another skillset that has to be developed to be successful With more experience and training we can learn to free our minds to allow these processes to work

Seeing what you did with perl inspired me to start with a frame first for /fardate. It's just such a fantastic way to deliver some value quickly, in a way that's not overwhelming and then have a base to iterate on. Traditionally I'd probably have just built an app and if I had I'd still be building now.
