This is your reminder that the founding team of Coinbase went all in on crypto when Bitcoin was under $100 and are true believers in the technology. Almost all companies today don’t have that kind of pedigree. You can argue the execution but to argue the intention is disingenuous at best. If you’re a true believer you trust yourself to steward/shepard the transition into the new era. Without Coinbase it’s a bunch of tech nerds preaching about their niche cult. Coinbase is a force for good. Coinbase helps the world move on chain. Do they rip your eyes out on the trade from fiat? Sure but I remember when I first moved in I didn’t care. It was the cost of having a reliable entity like Coinbase. They’ve brought more people on chain than basically everyone. (Ofc as believers we all understand this was inevitable haha.) Criticize the execution all you want but you don’t go all in building a company on Bitcoin sub $100 unless you truly genuinely believe in the technology.

I don’t think centralizing is better than not centralizing. They get to do whatever they want but what they do is counterproductive to purpose of the technology.

“Without coinbase it’s a bunch of tech nerds preaching their niche cult” Hahaha I’m sorry, that’s not what’s going on here? I mean seriously, if this current state is supposedly not that then we very much see the world differently.

I’m certain my takes are shifted towards extreme, I do that on purpose for 2 reasons: 1) there is a clear imbalance of voices, plenty of coinbase sympathizers and my dms show that a lot of people are afraid to speak up which seems silly to me but true. 2) extremes are very useful to sift out the mid and highlight the real opposition
