Hopped in a taxi to head to the airport. Taxi driver was new to NY and took two wrong exits, adding 45 minutes to the drive (ended up taking 1:45 total). Arrived to the airport after my flight had started boarding. Made it through security and to the gate as they were making last boarding call. I made it! 😵‍💫

Public transport is the way to go in NYC.  Much cheaper and gives you the peace of mind that you will definitely get there on time.

I considered it, but the taxi would have only been an hour vs 1.5 hrs taking the subway/train. Would have been fine had my driver known what he was doing 🤦🏻‍♂️
