Starting today, I will publish 5 short interesting medical facts! So let's get started! 1. The erythrocyte lives up to 120 days. 2. There are 2.5 trillion red blood cells in the human body all the time. To maintain this number, the bone marrow produces about 2.5 million new ones every second. 3. All organs and tissues of the body produce 25 million cells every second. This is slightly less than the population of Canada. 4. An erythrocyte can travel through the body's blood vessels in less than 20 seconds. 5. The speed of movement of impulses along nerve fibers is more than 400 km/h.

A few simple medical tips: Get regular medical checkups. This way you can notice diseases in time, when they are easiest to cure. It is best to do this at least once a year. Don't ignore the discomfort. If you feel unwell, consult a doctor, do not wait for the moment when it gets really bad. A layman is unlikely to be able to determine the cause of the disease, and self-medication may even worsen the problem. Follow the doctor's instructions. Do not skip medications, physiotherapy, follow the prescribed rules of activity and nutrition. If you doubt the correctness of the prescribed treatment, contact another doctor from the same field. Consult with a specialist before making a drastic lifestyle change. Perhaps some kind of sport is contraindicated for you, or some "healthy" product is contraindicated due to allergies or stomach disease. If you are not sure that you know everything about your body, be sure to consult your doctor.

Some recommendations for sleeping positions: 💤 Sleep on your side. With a properly selected mattress and pillow, the spine stretches in one line, and the body weight is evenly distributed. On the side, the risk of snoring and apnea decreases. For more convenience, you can put a thin pillow between your legs to reduce the pressure of one foot on the other. 💤 The "embryo" pose. It is a subspecies of sleeping on the side. This pose adds a sense of coziness and comfort and is suitable for full recovery. 💤 Sleeping on your back. Doctors of all specialties consider this position to be the best for sleeping. It helps to avoid pain in the neck and body as a whole, the spine and muscles rest. For a comfortable sleep, you need to use the right pillow. But remember that the choice of sleeping position depends on the individual characteristics of a person, their state of health and existing diseases 🛌

Physical activity helps to improve posture. Well-executed exercises strengthen the muscles of the back, lower back and neck. While working while sitting, both feet should be placed on the floor, you can use a footrest. The knees should be slightly lower than the hips. Elbows bent, forearms parallel to the floor. It is important to sit straight and look forward without straining your neck, pressing your back against a chair or putting a pillow if there is a gap and your back is uncomfortable. During sleep, it is recommended to use a hard mattress to support your back. Sleeping on your side or on your back is preferable to sleeping on your stomach. While sleeping on your side, you can put a small flat pillow between your legs, so your back will remain flat and straight. Health, well-being, self-confidence and even mood largely depend on posture. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor it in all spheres of life: at work and at home.

In continuation of the post about posture. To determine the state of posture, you can stand with your back to the wall and press the back of your head, shoulder blades, buttocks, and heels tightly against it. If it is uncomfortable to hold such a position, then the posture is incorrect. I will write recommendations in the next post.

I want to say a few words about posture 🩻 📏 The correct posture looks like this: the head is raised high, the chin is exposed forward, the body is straightened, the chest is deployed, the shoulders are at the same level and slightly pulled back, the stomach is pulled up. If you look at a person from behind, the head, neck and spine should form a straight vertical line. Why do you need proper posture? If the posture is correct, the load distribution is uniform. This allows you to save joints, protect cartilage tissue from premature wear. A straight back, straightened shoulders promote full-chest breathing, and gas exchange occurs more efficiently in the lungs. I will continue in the next caste.

Do exercises in the morning!🤸 The human body is not able to fully wake up when the alarm clock rings. And even at the moment when you have already got out of bed, all internal organs and systems still continue to "rest". During sleep, blood circulation slows down, metabolism slows down, and mental activity decreases. That is why, during awakening, a person feels a slight lethargy. He has decreased performance, both physically and mentally. In the morning, the reaction rate is significantly worsened. This condition can last (depending on individual characteristics) from 1 to 3 hours. To fully wake up and shake off such "inhibition", it is necessary to develop joints and muscles. In other words, you just need to do some exercises.

It may sound corny, but brush your teeth at least 2 times a day, in the morning and before going to bed. Statistics show that 70% of people brush their teeth only once a day. Believe me, an extra 5 minutes in the evening will save you a lot of money for the treatment of your teeth. I also recommend flossing 🦷

Sleep 7-9 hours every day💤 Sleep affects performance, emotional balance, brain and heart health, immune system, creativity, vitality, and even weight. In a dream, the body gains strength, and the brain processes the information received during the day. If there is not enough sleep or it is of poor quality, the brain does not have time to do night work and the person may feel sluggish and unable to concentrate.

Hello everyone I decided to publish simple ways and habits to be healthy! Let's start with the simplest thing that we do every day, but not so much. Drink more water 💧 An adult needs about 8 glasses of liquid per day. This amount includes all drinks and liquid products (for example, soups). But it is better to replace strong tea and coffee with clean water. Try to get used to drinking a glass of water immediately after waking up: this allows you to wake up faster yourself and "wake up" the gastrointestinal tract.

Digital Dietetics 🥦 📱 The technology of digital dietetics is based on the fundamental principles of evidence-based dietetics: • comprehensive assessment (digital analysis) of the main indicators of nutritional (metabolic) status – anthropometry, body composition, basic metabolism and actual nutrition at home, determining the balance of human nutrition relative to its individual nutritional and energy needs; • automated generation of a diet, which is based on an algorithm for using classic balanced diets, personalized taking into account individual human nutritional needs, the presence of the most common alimentary-dependent diseases, taste preferences, allergic reactions or food intolerance, as well as stated goals for body weight correction.

Medical Decision Support Systems (MDSS)🎗️ Medical Decision Support Systems (MDSS) are digital tools that will support clinical decision–making at every stage of a patient's examination and treatment. MDSS are designed to improve the delivery of medical care through targeted clinical knowledge, patient information, and other medical information. Traditional MDSS consists of software designed to directly assist in clinical decision-making, in which the characteristics of an individual patient are compared with a computerized database of clinical knowledge, and then specific patient assessments or recommendations are provided to a medical specialist for decision-making. There are two main types of MDSS: systems based on scientific knowledge, and systems based on the results of processing statistical data collected by mathematical methods.

NeuroChat 💬 NeuroChat is an original Russian development in this field, designed for people with severe speech and movement disorders. The authors are specialists from the Faculty of Biology of Lomonosov Moscow State University. The NeuroChat communication system creates the possibility of network communication for people who do not have the opportunity to speak and move today. The system has no language barriers, typed texts are translated online into the language of the interlocutor. Therefore, the social network formed on the basis of "Neurocats" is initially designed as an international one. The headset registers and transforms the user's mental efforts into specific commands, such as typing letters. Thus, with the help of a mental choice of a particular symbol, a person can type text letter by letter without voice and movements.

Exoskeleton 💀 The exoskeleton is designed for the rehabilitation and social adaptation of people with lower paraplegia (impaired locomotor functions of the lower extremities). Exorehabilitation is a continuous long–term process that combines walking in an exoskeleton with other rehabilitation techniques, which leads to an improvement in the well-being of patients, to partial or even complete restoration of the ability to walk. For a patient with limited mobility, for example, with cerebral palsy or spinal cord injury, an exoskeleton can be a chance to recreate motor activity. The exoskeleton really resembles a skeleton. A system of electric motors, pneumatics, levers, hydraulics or a combination of technologies allow you to move human limbs with increased strength and endurance.
