“You should add this feature, it can’t be that complicated”

This is unfocused. New features create tech debt and make the team move slower. They also don’t solve the most important problem. Unfocused startups fail.

Staying focused is hard. Here’s PG on focus:

When I was younger, I started a company with the goal of selling online courses.
Explaining my idea to my brother, it took less than half an hour for me (believe it or not, no exaggeration) to say that in the distant future I would have a credit card brand to compete with VISA and MASTER.
You don’t have to work hard to know that I went bankrupt.
