Here are this week’s highlights from the funded projects from @OpenCivics, @climate_program, TEC & @CeloPublicGoods.

@0xUrbanika - Urbánika's Bus: Circular Economy + Urban Governance 🚍🌱 (https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/urbnikas-bus-circular-economy--urban-governance) ~ 

The Web3 Neighborhood Program advanced with a Culture Committee & Governance Program. A governance tool is planned for 2026, while urban regeneration is now the focus. The bus is becoming fully habitable, with a biofilter & dry toilet. UAQ partnership explores waste bioconversion.

@aluxeprojects - Aluxes 🌴 Bee-Attractors Initiative 🐝🌿 (https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/aluxes-) ~ 

34 bee-attractors deployed using recycled plastic & an ancestral stingless-bee lure. Thermal covers help colonies adapt to climate change. GPS tracking via OpenLitterMap. Goal: protect 19 bee species & enhance biodiversity. 16 more attractors will be placed after resilience tests.

3/ @valueverselab - Valueverse Labs (https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/valueverse-labs) - Token Design Analysis & Health Metrics for Optimism Ecosystem

🚀 We completed an in-depth analysis of the token design and value-capturing mechanisms for four Optimism ecosystem projects. This included:

✅ Comprehensive Token Design Analysis: We broke down each token’s structure, dependencies, and utility in relation to protocol parameters and user behavior.
✅ Health Metrics Methodology: We developed a framework for assessing token health within the OP ecosystem.
✅ Deliverables: Created detailed Token Pages (structured insights) and Blogs (full analyses).

4/ @rifaisicilia - Rifai Sicilia (https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/rifai-sicilia) - They successfully hosted our first training session. The session covered essential topics and provided valuable insights for participants. The session was recorded and is available for review.

5/ @KokonutNetwork - Kokonut Onchain Network 🌱🌍 (https://x.com/karmahq_/status/1891472659369578987) ~

Kokonut Genesis trains contributors in the Fertilizers Biofactory, supporting sustainable farming. The project created 42 jobs, aiding 6 families. Organic fertilizers replace chemicals, boosting soil health & carbon sequestration. Next: biomass measurement & soil assessments.

5/ @KokonutNetwork - Kokonut Onchain Network (https://t.co/Is7Gwxtt9c) - Kokonut Genesis has become our headquarters for training contributors in the Fertilizers Biofactory, where they are applying new techniques to manage the Kokonut Seeds farm. This milestone supports crop…

6/ @DeCleanupNet - Decentralized Cleanup Network (DeCleanup Network) (https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/decentralized-cleanup-network-decleanup-network) - The evaluation highlighted the urgent need for V2 due to the following key reasons: the user experience (UX) is lacking, there are insufficient on-chain transactions, and engagement needs to be improved.

A new user flow for V2 of the dApp has been created, and the development process will be split into three phases to address these issues.

7/ Silvi at Kakamega Forest (https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/silvi-at-kakamega-forest) - The team is working closely with the Hypercerts team to integrate natively with the Silvi System. 

The objective is to fractionalize hypercerts based on goal stakeholders and proportional categories such as funding, methodology elements, evaluations, etc.
In the meantime, they have successfully minted a Hypercert with JSON impact data stored on IPFS for this project.

8/ Traditional Dream Factory - the first web3 powered regenerative village - is investing in biochar-producing infrastructure (https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/traditional-dream-factory---the-first-web3-powered-regenerative-village---is-investing-in-biochar-producing-infrastructure) -  The TDF team is currently in the midst of a build season, focusing on major infrastructure upgrades in preparation for their first public events of the year. A significant development involves the transformation of their Silos into "hobbit houses," an initiative that aligns with their core values of sustainability. 

By repurposing old waste materials, such as converting an old chicken farm, TDF demonstrates a commitment to resource reuse. This project was facilitated by the presence of a 70-ton crane on site, which was used to position two new 12-meter containers that will serve as the foundation for their mushroom farm.

9/ @EarthCommons - Earth Commons (https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/earth-commons) - The Earth Commons events across various regions in 2024 have successfully brought together experts and stakeholders from diverse sectors to focus on climate, finance, and conservation. In Zurich, a private, invite-only dinner convened 32 leaders from finance, academia, and Web3 to strengthen cross-sector networks and lay the groundwork for Earth Commons Switzerland 2025. 

The Chiang Mai Builder Residency saw 40 builders from 25 countries working on public goods funding and climate solutions, with notable projects like GainForest and Planetary Protocol. The Public Goods x Earth Commons Hackathon in Bangkok involved 356 global participants, with winning projects focused on climate impact and environmental conservation. In San Francisco, Earth Commons held its first standalone conference, exploring decentralized science, funding models, and cross-sector collaboration, featuring speakers like Samantha Power and Stuart Cowan.

10/ RegenBuild 🏡 (https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/regenbuild-1) - The third article of the series exploring a suitable framework for fostering a regenerative economy in the built environment has been published. 

This article continues the exploration of how to create a regenerative economy through structural changes and strategies in the built environment, providing insights and methodologies to guide the transition toward sustainability.

11/ Bloom Network (https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/bloom-network) - The Bloom team has been busy completing Web3 integrations, with several significant updates. They have integrated with Karma GAP, allowing Bloomers to post their impact reports to Local Bloom hubs automatically, streamlining the reporting process for community leaders. 

Additionally, they’ve integrated Inverter Network’s bounties smart contracts with a user-friendly interface, enabling authors to easily report actions and track contributions. The platform now hosts over 300 impact reports, and 250 new wallets have been created across Ethereum networks like Optimism, Base, and Arbitrum, with different chains being used for easier fiat offramps depending on the country. Special thanks to Para wallet for their support in making Web3 onboarding seamless for Bloomers.
