Here are this week’s highlights from the funded projects.

2/ Pokt China (https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/pokt-china) ~ During January 2025, routine management of the Chinese community channels, including Twitter, Telegram, and WeChat, was conducted. Key activities included:

- Ongoing moderation and engagement across Chinese-language platforms.
- Regular publication of weekly recaps to keep the community informed.
- Translation and distribution of key updates and announcements via social media.

These efforts supported continuous engagement and accessibility for the Chinese-speaking community.

3/ @gainforestnow (https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/gainforest-2) ~ GainForest aims to scale its impact by strengthening financial sustainability, expanding community engagement, advancing scientific and technical development, and enhancing external communications.
To ensure financial resilience, GainForest plans to submit at least five grant applications and establish partnerships with Global Giving and Endaoment. Additionally, the organization will launch an online donation platform with a goal of securing 15 or more new monthly donors. A key focus will be completing technical documentation for all shared tools and deploying the Splits Contract while integrating Hypercerts.

Community engagement efforts will involve onboarding eight communities to both Splits Contracts and Hypercerts, guiding five communities in applying for Gitcoin Grants, and developing comprehensive onboarding documentation to support new participants. These initiatives aim to facilitate wider adoption and accessibility.

4/ The Solar Foundation ☀️ (https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/the-solar-foundation--) ~ In November 2024, a collaborative humanitarian aid initiative was launched with Solarpunk Nomads to support civilian populations in preparation for the winter season. This effort provided solar panels, batteries, inverters, and bicycles to GEN Ukraine eco-communities, a network of over 20 eco-villages established for refugees displaced by Russia's war on Ukraine.

As part of this contribution, a power bank, battery, and solar panel were delivered to enhance energy access within the community. These resources ensure continuous power supply, enable connectivity, and facilitate the creation of a solar-powered workshop for various community projects. A member of the community expressed gratitude, stating that the new energy setup provides a stable connection in shared spaces and near the stable, improving safety for visitors.

5/ Byte Onchain (by B<>rder/ess) (https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/byte-onchain-by-brderess) ~ 

ByteOnchain.xyz Functional Features Update

Key functional enhancements have been successfully implemented on ByteOnchain.xyz to improve the user experience and platform usability.

The platform now supports video uploads with a fully operational admin panel, enabling seamless content management. A calendar creation feature has been introduced, allowing users to schedule and track events efficiently. An updates section has been implemented to keep users informed about the latest announcements and improvements. Additionally, the user onboarding process has been successfully executed, with users completing the Orientation Course, marking a significant milestone in engagement.

These improvements contribute to a more interactive and streamlined learning experience. Further updates and enhancements are expected in the near future.

6/ Diamante Bridge Collective (https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/diamante-bridge-collective) ~ Coliazul: Building the First Bamboo Structure

A hands-on bamboo construction project was successfully completed at Coliazul, providing participants with practical experience in sustainable building techniques. Throughout the initiative, six individuals gained knowledge about constructing simple bamboo structures, while all participants explored the principles of designing versatile bamboo buildings.

Three volunteers received hands-on training in bamboo construction, including techniques for creating strong joints. The group also developed an understanding of the unique considerations required when building in a tropical climate, including seasonal and daytime factors that influence construction work. Additionally, the project emphasized the importance of integrating functionality with aesthetic principles, demonstrating how even temporary structures can incorporate a minimum level of beauty.

7/ Earthist - Decentralize the Seeds (https://gap.karmahq.xyz/project/earthist---decentralize-the-seeds) ~ Kendir Hemp Plantation – Impact Report

The Kendir Hemp Plantation initiative successfully contributed to local agricultural and environmental sustainability. By empowering local farmers, the project supported knowledge sharing and economic opportunities within the community. Soil health was enriched through sustainable farming practices, while the use of heirloom seeds helped enhance biodiversity. Additionally, the initiative fostered greater collaboration among community members, strengthening local networks and cooperative efforts.

This project represents a step toward regenerative agriculture and community-driven environmental resilience.
