Can someone explain to me conceptually how is it possible to airdrop BONKs (or just the Genesis NFT) to Saga holders, before the user even unbox and set up a wallet. Is it via pre-generated wallet (e.g. like how @privy does)?

You get a soulbound token into the address you specified when you preordered. So that address only has the eligibility to claim the airdrops.
