I kept seeing the 1.5 million accounts thing mentioned regarding the electricity surcharge but I doubt Ontario Hydro is charging Americans like that. I would have to check but it would make more sense if the cost increase is simply spread across the local grid, which would mean 25% would be only a few percent across the local areas. Trump likely was only making such a huge deal of this because it was all over the news.
