Kraken and a16z leaders are running for CFTC chairman position According to Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett, President-elect Donald Trump's transition team is actively looking for candidates with crypto-friendly views to take on the role of the next Chairman of the Commission. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Potential candidates Among the nominated names, there are prominent faces such as Summer Mersinger, currently CFTC Commissioner; Brian Quintenz, a16z's Director of Crypto Policy and former CFTC Commissioner; with Marco Santori, Chief Legal Officer of Kraken. The report says that Mersinger and Quintenz are currently the “best candidates” for this position as they both possess rich experience and extensive strategic vision in the field of cryptocurrency policy
