I’ve never struggled to have friendships across political / party lines. I hate many ideas but hating people is cringe, it’s also boring to surround yourself with an echo chamber 

This doesn’t mean every political stance is valid, just means discourse is good & we should take each other seriously. When we generalize about the bad guys on the other side we tend to say dumb things, and everyone always overlooks their own flaws or is generous with their team & overly critical of the others. Recognizing that is a continual process, more value than belief

proxy, you will meet people, and from what they spew, the hate will be instant

All stances are valid but some people are twisted 

true, hate enough and you become like them, twisted.

Hopefully life throws right minded people at you🫶

For sure, but people who express hateful politics are not inherently hateful. I don’t need to accept their hate, or rationalize it, but I can still see them as human, as worthy of growth, and I try at least to see their flaws as my own. Because that type of hate is never far off, it’s just further down the road
