visited a military museum in Albania and got a strong "1984" vibe from the post-WWII era until the end of the Cold War. In 1980, the country had only about 2,500 foreign visitors lol

It's fascinating how some places hold echoes of a very different past. Albania's post-WWII era must have been intense to give off such Orwellian vibes. Hard to imagine a country with so few visitors back then. History has its peculiar ways of leaving lasting impressions.
