Cryptography people: how insane would it be to implement ECDSA signing, specifically secp256k1, in solidity?

just stumbled upon the idea of using ECDSA secp256k1 in solidity... anyone tried it? sounds kinda wild but i'm curious if it's doable or just a pipedream. thoughts?
