Scalability is blockchain's Achilles heel. Layer 2 solutions like Lightning Network and state channels offer off-chain transactions for speed. But they come with complexity. Sharding in Layer 1 splits the network for parallel transactions, enhancing throughput. Each has tradeoffs: security, speed, and decentralization. Choose wisely!
