But the article confirms what I know, with the language it uses "the Base sequencer".

youre not missing anything Base is a single sequencer L2, Coinbase runs said sequencer.

Thanks for confirming. They do run it well - it never had an outage. Just wish they had at least fraud proofs and escape hatch.
