Wife and I started the carnivore diet this week, cut out caffeine, and alcohol too except on Tuesdays and when I play slow pitch because I play better when I’ve had a few beers. I did the carnivore diet last year for the whole month of January with no caffeine or alcohol then and I lost 20 lbs and had lots of natural energy and my aches/pains went away. It’s a lot easier this time around because she is on board with it and participating, but this will just be a 2 week experiment for her to see how she likes it.

On the carnivore diet part of it is eating more fats because your body is switching from using carbs/sugar as energy sources and switches to using fats and fat stores within the body to produce the energy. After a few weeks on it I will wake up with energy from the go and the energy lasts all day long. Me not drinking coffee is just a choice and has nothing to do with the diet. I think caffeine breaks are good for people and helps reset the tolerance levels.

Also when I think of natural energy I’m thinking energy produced from within and not provided by a stimulant like coffee or energy drinks.
