Sentient Secures $85M Seed Round for Open-Source AI

They raised $85M in a seed round led by Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund, with Pantera Capital and Framework Ventures.

Funds will hire engineers and develop an open AI platform to monetize open-source AI models and data.

Founded by Sandeep Nailwal (Polygon), Pramod Viswanath (Princeton), and Himanshu Tyagi (Indian Institute of Science).

They aim to solve the issue of open-source models being copied without compensation.

Testnet will be available in Q3 2024.
