How many of you know that you have been fed a lie regarding Ordinals? Not sure why the lie is continually perpetuated but the narrative is entirely false. You are exchanging on-chain ownership for on-chain storage. Provenance is ownership based - there is no on-chain provenance.

To prove my point, with Ethereum, I can install any Ethereum client and query the chain directly using an on-chain function in a smart contract. With Ordinals, I have to either install a particular wallet or visit a website that will compute the off-chain ownership details.

Bitcoin was built specifically to handle digital ownership, yet Ordinals throws this out the window just so we can inefficiently store media on-chain. Is this really what you signed up for? Or have you been misled?
