I feel like the math has got to be a little more complicated than what is being floated around here. 

For example, if an individual’s share of the total allowance pool is limited to 0.22% (10,000/4,500,000) then their excess contribution to the vault would need to be removed in determining everyone else’s allowance, otherwise the whole allowance pool wouldn’t be distributed, right? Which would mean to get the max 10k allowance, you would need to distribute far less than 0.22% of the total pool.

Someone set me straight here. You can’t simply compute the required stake for a 10K allowance as 0.22% of the total value balance, can you? 

Extreme example, but if @wake.eth contributed 99.99% of the DEGEN in the vault, he’d only get 10K allowance. If we don’t remove his excess DEGEN contribution from the equation, only 0.01% of the total allowance pool (or 450 DEGEN) would be getting split between all other contributors to the vault.

If I’m thinking about this right, then everyone is waaay overestimating the amount that needs to be locked to secure a 10K allowance…

Yes, you’ll always get your share of the pool. If someone stakes a few million, they do lock up that part of the pool, even though they can only get a max of 10k $DEGEN daily allowance. That’s just how the game works for now. We might tweak it down the road, but we want to keep it simple for now.

Idk whether Jacek thought this all the way through but he confirmed below. Essentially, we could and likely will run into a situation where the full 4.5M allowance pool doesn’t get distributed this season.
