Stockfish plays moves that feel like blunders. We know they're ~optimal; we’re just incapable of (a-priori) seeing why. A smart human may do things that feel like mistakes. It's difficult, but try to consider the possibility that they're right; you just don't understand why.

Technology has democratized many fields that have previously been only accessible to the few. You don’t need a studio to publish videos, you don’t need a newspaper to distribute stories, and you don’t need a label to sell music anymore. AI is doing the same to software now.

Somewhat counterintuitively, in my experience advanced research/engineering projects perform better when there is some org-external pressure to deliver. Technologies developed in an isolated, tranquil environment can be impressive but often fail to actually be useful.

If models improve exponentially over time, then the value of trained models depreciates exponentially, too. This is interesting from a product-perspective, as you need to move very quickly in order to extract commercial value from a model before it essentially becomes worthless.
