Have been missing the NFT meta more recently. It had plenty of pros/cons but I liked the pros. pros: - NFT sales rev went directly to team. - Visual aspect made it easier for visual artists and collectors to understand as it was similar to selling an original work or print. - Smart contracts enabled genuinely compelling ways to create digital objects - dynamic expectations about what happened after a project was released. (zero roadmap to big roadmap) cons: - many projects that promised big things failed to deliver them or were outright scams - many projects that promised nothing also went to zero. - fractionalization never took off. - small groups of insiders made the lions share of $ and not enough flowed back into the ecosystem. - Toxic positivity/WAGMI. lots of hate directed towards people who challenged that narrative. - people stopped buying new tokens after they stopped making money. pros/cons to memecoin meta as well but it's so mercenary https://x.com/john_c_palmer/status/1881808988230295981

NFTs sparked innovation by blending art and technology, but their pitfalls like unrealistic promises and speculative hype were harsh lessons. Whether it's NFTs or memecoins, finding sustainable value beyond quick gains is key.
