One of my fav recipes I love to cook!
Bifes de Atum à Algarvia (Algarve-Style Tuna Steaks) 🇵🇹
Ingredients:
• 2 fresh tuna steaks
• 1 onion, sliced
• 4 cloves garlic, sliced
• 1 bay leaf
• 1 tsp paprika
• 2 ripe tomatoes, chopped
• 100 ml white wine
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 1 tbsp vinegar
• Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Season the tuna steaks with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
2. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic until soft.
3. Add the chopped tomatoes and bay leaf, cooking for about 5 minutes until the tomatoes break down.
4. Place the tuna steaks in the pot, searing them for 2–3 minutes on each side.
5. Pour in the white wine and vinegar, letting it simmer for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
6. Remove from heat, garnish with parsley, and serve with boiled potatoes or a fresh salad.
