ERC-404 aren't NFTs you can trade on DEXes.

They are tokens with NFT-esque utilities.

Much closer to tokens than NFTs imo.

Farcaster

3. Anything not yet developed can be developed, with custom apps or frames
4. All these were not possible before smart contracts solving the decentralized name registry problem

Farcaster will be it because it answers "why" and "why now" very well:

1. Decentralization benefits on top of similar UX to web2 social networks
2. Tokens and DeFi integration to add financial aspects to social media
