what are the differences between tokens and coins? why are they stablecoins and memecoins and not stabletokens and memetokens?

A coin has a value in another currency. A token is a unit of a project that may not yet have value in another currency. I understand it this way😅

i like your description of a token being a unit of a project, but don't fully agree with a coin having value in another currency. if i release an erc20 in which i'm the sole owner, the "coin" has no real value in another currency. imo they can be used interchangeable depending on who you're talking to
