This sounds like just a brand consolidation - tap to pay for Android will work exactly as before. It is interesting they’re getting rid of P2P payments though. I also question how much Apple Pay P2P gets used even with its integration into iMessage. Most ppl I know just use Venmo for P2P

its still a bit surprising as I know they would not shut down Google pay in India with their adoption in there

I didn’t realize how widely Google Pay was used in India. Do a lot of people use the P2P feature?
