Markar Square in Yazd is a significant cultural and historical site that serves as an important symbol for the Zoroastrian community. The square was built in the 1930s by Pashutan Ji Dosabhai Markar, a Zoroastrian philanthropist from India. Markar made numerous contributions to support the Zoroastrian community in Iran, including the construction of schools, a clock tower, and Markar Square in Yazd.
